Jennie Clemens
Only Daughter of Orion & Jane Clemens, niece of Samuel Clemens (AKA Mark Twain) Born in Iowa in 1855 she died in Carson City, Nevada in 1864 at the age of 9. She was raising money to purchase a Bible for the local Presbyterian Church at the time of her death. Abe Curry donated the sandstone marker for her grave and the Bible for the Church.
Her father was appointed by President Lincoln to serve as Secretary of the newly created Nevada Territory in 1861.

Inscription

The stone is quite small and has a unique shape, not quite square, but cut almost on a "bias". there is one ivy vine wrapped around the stone, ivy represents everlasting life and rebirth.
