James W. Brown Formerly of West Pittsburg James "Jimmy" Brown, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on September 22, 2012 after a long and brave battle with Parkinson's Disease/ALS in Birmingham Alabama. Jimmy was born on April 26 th , in Ephrata, Washington in 1947 to Louise and Willard 'Brownie' Brown. From ages 2-16 years of age of his life he had to endure many stays at the Shriners Hospital for Children in both Spokane and San Francisco. In 1952 the family relocated to the West Pittsburg area. In 2006 Jimmy moved to Antioch where he resided until he moved to Adamsville, Alabama in 2009 with his sister Pat and her husband Louis Gerling. Jimmy graduated from Pacifica High School in 1966. He went on to work at Applied Radiation, Gan's Janitorial and retired after many years from the Acalanes Union High School District in 1993. In Jimmy loved to travel and recently spent a week at Walt Disney World in Florida with his family. In years before his illness, Jimmy was a skilled and avid bowler. He also enjoyed his CB base station, listening to his police scanner and was know for his M & M collectables. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his long time companion Sandra Beckham. He will be missed greatly by his sisters Shirley Tullis and Patricia Gerling, brother-in-law Louise Gerling, and a vast array of nieces, nephews ad friends.
