"Frank R. Hewitt, 76, of Fremont, passed away on Friday, February 5. Mr. Hewitt was a life-long resident of the area and was married to Iva Maynard in 1949. He was retired from Gerber Products Co. and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose 1555 in Fremont.

He is survived by his wife Iva (Jerry); one son, Michael McCrory of Coloma, Mi.; three daughters, Mrs. Gary (Chrystal) (sic) Starlin of Tustin, Mrs. David (Marjorie) Howes of Battle Creek, and Mrs. Daniel (Judy) Hilliard of Coloma. 11 grandchildren; one brother, Juell Hewitt of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 8 from the Crandell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Williams of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Fremont officiating with interment in East Hesperia cemetery. Friends are asked to consider the Michigan Heart Association for a more lasting memorial concerning Mr. Frank Hewitt."
He was not buried on February 8 because of the winter weather and the frozen ground. He was buried in the spring.
