Dolora Marcoe Ray, 39, received her wings and was called home by her lord on August 11, 1993, after a courageous fight with cancer, surrounded by the love and support of her family. Raised in Tacoma, she lived in Seattle and worked at Group Health in the Medical Director's office for 9 years. She graduated from St. Leo's High School.
She is survived by her daughter, sweet Jaimisa Gourley and Jaimisa's father, James Gourley, Seattle. She also leaves her new, loving husband, John F. Ray, Memphis, Tenn.; His parents, Phyllis and John Ray, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; his sisters and spouses; Joanna and Jim Williams, Atlanta, Georgia, Jaque and Butch Townsend, Knoxville, Tenn.; her parents, Leonard and Margaret Marcoe, Tacoma; her sisters and spouses: Paulette and Joe Eltrich, Marian and Darth Swanson, Tacoma, Winona and Bill Rice, Gig Harbor, Joanne Marcoe and All Brisbois, Renton; her brothers and spouses: Ron and Connie Marcoe, Olympia, Lawrence and Marlene Marcoe, Renton; 7 loving nieces and 3 nephews.
Dolora had a passion for life and was an inspiration to all who knew her. She is remembered for her warm smile and the twinkle in her eye. Her kindness, unconditional love and warm sense of humor was known to all. She was devoted to her daughter Jaimisa and loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed running, athletics and being outdoors. She also loved music and shopping. She had a real zest for life and the world is a better place because she was here. She is remembered as an Angel on Earth and is not our Guardian Angel in Heaven. We will love and miss you forever, Dolora!
