Medina Co. Gazette - Dec 18, 1903: Died at Charity hospital, Cleveland, Dec 11, 1903, Caroline Dorothea Leister, aged 47 years, 2 months and 14 days. She was born in burnswick township and spent all her life at home of the her parents. She suffered much from that oppressing disease, asthma, which unfitted her to follow other vocations for which she might have had a preference. She chose the resposicility of looking to the wants of her aged father, and this was her life work to see him want not, from which work the summons of death called her.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran church of Liverpool, where her remains rest. She was a firm believer in a future life to which she gave evidence in her every-day life, finding comfort in the Savior's promise. "Lo, I am with you always even to the end of the world". This verse her sister wrote while suffering in Lakeside hospital seven years ago, and Caroline has carefully preserved it, keeping it always before her. Also the following lines were found in her favorite Bible in her handwriting: If God hath made this world so fair, Where sin and death abound. How beautiful beyond comapre, will Paradise be found.
Funeral services were held at the home of her father, Peter Leister, Monday, Dec 14, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Kehner.
