A Catherine Grubb, age 12, born Illinois, parents born North Carolina, was living with them in 1880. All of the children were born in North Carolina. The eldest child, William, was known to have gone by the surname of Weesner. Did the rest of the children also use that spelling? A descendant of this family said that the family originally came to Hope, Bartholomew County, Indiana and then returned to North Carolina. They later migrated to Illinois by train.
