Lorene was born on January 14, 1925 in Juniata, Nebraska to Ben and Pauline (Hupf) Konen. She married Edward L. Knebel on October 29, 1946 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings and he preceded her in death on February 18, 1981. She worked 30 years for Hastings Catholic Schools in the Lunch Program, and also did volunteer work at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Lorene was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society, Catholic Daughters, Mary Lanning Memorial Auxiliary and a loving mother to her two children. Her hobbies included: gardening, canning, sewing, playing cards, and spending time with her family and friends. The family extends a special thanks to Madonna and all of their staff for the kind and compassionate care that they gave to Lorene during her time with them.
Lorene A. Knebel was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward L. Knebel; and brothers, William Konen and Harold Konen.
