Francis Arthur "Frankie" Hayes of Richwoods, Missouri was born Sunday, October 2, 1927 in Richwoods, Missouri. He was the son of the late, Thomas Hayes and the late, Laura Ellen (Charboneau) Hayes. Frankie departed this life on Wednesday, November 26, 2014, at Barnes Jewish Medical Center in Saint Louis, Missouri.

Frankie was united in marriage to Verna Mae Bequette on September 12, 1953 in DeSoto, Missouri.

Frankie is survived by five sons, Keith W. and wife, Shelia Hayes of Richwoods, Missouri; David Francis and wife, Marsha Hayes of Richwoods, Missouri; Ralph A. and wife, Joyce Hayes of Jackson, Missouri; Jeffery L. and wife, Gail Hayes of Blackwell, Missouri; Richard A. Hayes of Saint James, Missouri; daughter, Esther Renee and husband, Greg Malawey of Potosi, Missouri; sister, Ruth "Dee Dee" Love of St. Clair, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; special friend, Joyce Thurmond of St. Clair, Missouri; also surviving are many other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Frankie was preceded in death by his wife, Verna Mae Hayes, infant daughter, Lisa Ann Hayes, grandson, Tymon "T.J." Hayes, brothers, Lawrence Hayes, Anthony Hayes, Charlie Hayes, Chester Hayes and Louis Hayes, sisters, Lucille Patton, Esther Patton, Ethel Carver and infant Laura Hayes.

Frankie enjoyed his family gatherings, seeing all of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Frankie loved playing his fiddle at church picnics and for fundraisers. He entertained for many years at nursing homes and Sayers Senior Center and also played at many funerals for friends. Frankie will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Visitation was held from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, November 30, 2014 and Monday, December 1, 2014 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, at Moore Funeral Home, 105 Clark Street, Potosi, Missouri.

Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:00 AM on Monday at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Father Robert Liss officiating.

Final Prayers and Burial took place in St. Stephen Catholic Cemetery, Richwoods, Missouri. Honoring the life and memory of Frankie, serving as Pallbearers were Casey Cardwell, Caleb Hayes, John Hayes, Adam Hayes, Jacob Hayes, Ian Hayes, Andy Hayes and Connor Hayes.
