Phillip Fleck, one of White County's oldest and most highly respected German citizens, died at the home of his daughter-in-law, Friday morning, September 23, 1910 at 10 o'clock.

Mr. Fleck was born in Baden, Germany and was in the 81st year of his age. He came to this country in the year 1858 since which time he has been a resident of this county. He was a clever old gentleman and had a host of friends and acquaintances. Farming had been his occupation since coming to this country.

Deceased leaves two sons and three daughters.

Mr. Fleck had lost a grown son, Fred (sic, Christopher) Fleck, only a few weeks ago and he had been residing at the home of the late son since that time.

Mr. Fleck also leaves one sister besides many grandchildren.

Short funeral services were held at the residence which is near number Four (Fleck) School house, Sunday morning at 9 o'clock after which the regular funeral occurred at the German Church north of this city. Interment at Reib Cemetery. A large crowd of relatives and friends were present at the funeral.
