Helen Louise Gerhart, 100, formerly of 814 Dale St., Hagerstown, died Thursday, May 2, 2002, at Williamsport Nursing Home. Born Dec. 27, 1901, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late William and Virginia Schlotterbeck. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eli Burkett Gerhart. She was employed by Alexandria Hotel and Howard Johnson as a cook. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Hagerstown.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Younker and Millie Eichelberger, both of Hagerstown; a son, Harold Gerhart of Hagerstown; a sister, Mary Donat of Hagerstown; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Campbell and Rosie Collins, and four brothers, Charles Schlotterbeck, Harry Schlotterbeck, Luther Schlotterbeck and Edward Schlotterbeck.


Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, Hagerstown. The Rev. Robert S. Barton will officiate. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
