Larry Lee Ralston, 62, Carthage, Mo., was pronounced dead at 4:38 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 at his parents' home.
Mr. Ralston was born April 4, 1940 in Carthage, MO to Dr. Oren A. Ralston and Madylon Stafford Ralston. He was a graduate of Carthage Senior High School class of 1958 and Pittsburg State College, Pittsburg, Kan. with a BS degree in biology. He was vice president of sales for Big Smith Manufacturing, retiring in 1983. He was a former member of the Carthage Rotary Club and was active in the Broadview Investment Club. He was a retired Colonel in the Missouri National Guard, 203rd Battalion, retiring in 1993. He was the recipient of the American Spirit Award, presented to him by the Citizens Committee for the Army, Navy and Air Force.
He married Peggy Morris on Sept. 18, 1976 in Carthage,MO.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy, of the home; two sons, Scott Ralston, Los Angeles, Calif. and Mark Ralston, Nashville, Tenn.; a stepson, Shannon Brown, New Braunfels, Texas; and one brother, Richard Ralston, Carthage.
The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 21 in the Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage, MO. Rev. Steve Wilson will officiate. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
