Nanticoke Resident Dead

Frank Grett, a former manager of the Broadway Opera House at Nanticoke, died suddlenly at his home in that place yesterday morning after a few hours illness of tonsilitis. Late Saturday night Mr. Grett was taken ill with sore throat.

Upon getting out of bed yesterday he complained that he was unable to breathe. His wife immediately summoned Dr. Dodson, but before the physician arrived he was dead.

He is survived by a wife, two sons, Cyrus H. and William Albert; his father and one brother, Morris Grett of Philadelphia.

The funeral will take place on Wednesday afternoon at 2'oclock from the residence at the corner of Prospect and Green streets. Burial will be made in the Hanover Green cemetery.

Military Funeral

A fitting military funeral took place yesterday in town in honor of Frank Grett, who died a few days ago at his home on Green street. The services took place at 3 o'clock from the home, Rev. Burrows of the Presbyterian church officiating. The singing was done by Mrs. John Pierce of Wilkes-Barre and Mrs. Ivor Phillips of Nanticoke. The casket was covered with a profusion of floral emblems and bouquets from the family and friends together with the soldiers and painters. The casket was born by Clifford Werfield, William Charleton, Ezra Fatherman, George Reese, Elwin Rhoddo, Julius Sack, all members of Co. L. The shooting squad at the grave yard was composed of Privates Groditski, Dew, Kemmrick, Fuge, Swovick and Taylor in charge of Sergeant Womelsdorf. George Bates acted as color bearer.

Appointed Constable

Thomas H. Jones was appointed constable of the Seventh ward of Nanticoke, to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Frank Grett.

Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Grett have returned to Philadelphia. They came here last week, called on account of the death of Frank Grett.
