Omar Alva Richardson was the son of Joshua Newton and Luemma (Allen) Richardson.

Omar "Alva" Richardson, 78, died at 9:45 AM Friday [Jan. 8, 1960] in his Lafayette home, after having been seriously ill ten days. He had been in failing health five years. Born near Hazelwood, he married Emma Jane Harris in 1924 at Alton, IL.

Mr. Richardson had been a maintenance man for telephone companies at Indianapolis and Seattle. In 1911, he became maintenance foreman for the Western Union Telegraph Company, retiring in 1951. He was a birthright member of the Quaker Church at Center Valley, and a member of Monrovia Lodge 654, F&AM.

Surviving with the widow are two sons, James Newton Richardson of Lafayette and Edward Lewis Richardson of North Webster; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Johnson of Clayton, Mrs. Mabel Baldock and Mrs. Clara Reitzel, both of Stilesville; and a brother, Willis Richardson of Richmond, IN.
