Nellie A. Langkop, 97, of Prairie Home, Mo. died June 9, 2008 at Cooper County Memorial Hospital in Boonville.

On Nov. 8, 1910, Nellie was born the daughter of James T. and Emma M. Burgi Alexander, both of whom preceded her in death.

Mrs. Langkop graduated from California High School in 1929 and graduated from Warrensburg Teacher's College (now University of Central Missouri). After graduation Nellie taught at several rural schools and Prairie Home Elementary in Prairie Home. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Prairie Home.

She was married June 6, 1937 to Carl D. Langkop, who preceded her in death in October of 1977.

Mrs. Langkop was also preceded in death by one brother, Hugh Alexander.

Survivors include: one son, Carl W. Langkop, of Springfield, Ill.; one sister, Kathryn Reuszer of Prairie Home; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 12, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at Thacher Funeral Home in Boonville. Funeral Services will be Thursday, June 13, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Myron Couch officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
