Doc Martin Weaver, Jr. was buried March 17, 1988 in Houston, Texas.

Martin was born Feb. 24, 1927 in Parkin, Ark. He died March 9, 1988. He spent most of his life in the Steele, Oak Ridge, and Blytheville areas.

He leaves his wife, Vivian Gestring Weaver, the daughter of the late Frank Gestring of Steele; five sons: Charles Weaver, Gary Weaver, David Weaver, Jerry Weaver, and Larry Weaver; one daughter, Jeanette; one brother, Maynard Weaver; one sister, Virginia Adkinson; and ten grandchildren.

Doc Martin served his country for 20 years. He retired from the Blytheville Air Force Base. After his retirement he moved to Houston, where he organized the Weaver and Sons Box Co. and the Weaver's Bar-B-Q Restaurants.

He was an active member of the Lakewood Church in Houston, a Master Mason, a Scottish Rite Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. William Dearman, pastor of the Lakeside Church. Pallbearers were from Parkplace Masonic Lodge No. 1172, AF&AM in Houston. Services were held at Midway Broadway Chapel and burial was at the South Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston.
