Dallas L. Ayers, 25, who was seriously injured in a truck accident August 24, died August 28 in a Lynchburg, VA General Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Ayers; one daughter, Clara Bell of Gretna, VA; his father, John Ayers of Jonesboro; five brothers, Walter of Jonesboro, Charles and Mallie of Erwin, Ralph of Gretna and Junior off Germany; six sisters, Mrs. Nelson Ray of Erwin, Mrs. Ray Crowder of South Boston, VA, Mrs. Walter Ray of Erwin, Mrs. Neal Shelton of Gretna and Effie and Faye Ayers of Jonesboro.*Source- Johnson City Press, Aug. 31, 1948, Page 14
