Afred C. Charping, 84, of 311 Simpson Road, Anderson Place, widower of Annie Irene McAlister Charping died Monday 21, 1990 at Anderson Place Health Care Center.
Born May 22, 1905 in Anderson, SC. He was a son of the late John H. and Tea Kay Charping. Mr. Charping learned the upholstery business as a teen-ager with High Point, NC furniture manufacturers. He was retired owner and operator of Charping Furniture Upholstery Shop on McClellan Road for over 60 years and was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Ralph F. King Baracca Sunday School Class.
Surving are daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Margaret) Tinsley, Mrs. Jerry (Brenda) Slaton, Mrs. Ronnie (Betty) Engram all of Anderson. Mrs. Ed. (Mary) Pruitt of Houston, Texas. Brothers, D.P. Charping of Anderson, S.E. Charping of Naples, Fla., and J.L. Charping of Taylors,SC. Sister, Mrs. George (Bessie) Parnell of Naples, Fla.
Eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services at 3 p..m. Wednesday at McDougalds Funeral Home chapel by the Rev. Jimmy Gaines. Burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
The body is at the funeral home where family will receive friends fron 7 to 9 Tuesday.
The family is at the home of daughter, Mrs. Walace (Margaret) Tinsley, 1507 McCellan Road, Anderson.
