Mrs. Fox, 88, formerly of Charlotte, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 18, 2009, at Lake Prince Woods Nursing Home, Suffolk, VA.
Louise was born in Charlotte, February 5, 1921, daughter of Clyde and Annie Hewitt. She was a graduate of Derita High School and attended Appalachian State Teachers College and Carolina Business School. She served as secretary at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church for several years and as Deputy Clerk of Superior Court in Charlotte from 1968 to 1985. She was very active in women's ministries at Sugaw Creek where she was a life-long member. She exemplified the love of Christ in her life and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a faithful friend to many.
Louise was preceded in death by her first husband of 22 years, James F. Brown, and by her second husband of 23 years, Robert G. Fox, Sr.
She is survived by her son, James W. Brown and his wife, Sandra of Virginia Beach, VA; her three grandchildren and their spouses, Chris Brown and wife, Jennifer of Virginia Beach, VA; Jennifer Brown Maggiore and husband, Joe of Virginia Beach, VA; and Kimberly Brown Nieter and husband, Brent of Chesapeake, VA; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her stepdaughter Cynthia Fox Cochrane and husband, Joe of Jefferson, NC; stepson Robert G. Fox, Jr. and wife, Diane of Mint Hill, NC; and stepson William H. Fox and wife, Joyce of Marietta, GA; and 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, April 21, at 1:00 PM at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church, 101 West Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, with the Reverend Dr. James W. Brown, her son, officiating. A graveside commitment will follow in the cementary across from the Church, then her family will return to the Church to receive friends in the Fellowship Hall of the Church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church, Charlotte.
