TERRE HAUTE — Amber Lynn Lucas Kropus, 60, of Bonita Springs Fla., and formerly of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, after a 10-month battle with cancer. Amber was born on Aug. 29, 1952, in Terre Haute, to Melvin Laverne Lucas and Shirley Ann Campbell Lucas. Amber was a 1970 graduate of Gerstmeyer High School, and was employed at First Financial Bank for 13 years, before moving to Florida. She enjoyed gardening and home decorating.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis Kropus, who she married in 1975; one son, Ryan Christopher Kropus of Bonita Springs; her mother, Shirley Ann Campbell Lucas of Terre Haute; one sister, Stephania Ann Lucas Martin and her husband Melvin Martin of Terre Haute; one niece, Dina Lynn Lee Bryan and her husband Carl Bryan and one nephew, Todd Allen Brummett and his wife Lorie Brummett, all of Terre Haute; three great-nieces, Jessica Pitts, Cale Bryan, and Paige Brummett, and one great-nephew, George Gregory Pitts III, all of Terre Haute; and two very special friends, Ellen Jarvis Sedletzeck and Becky Adams Davidson. A very special buddy which was her dog, Toby, that was her greatest companion throughout her illness. Amber was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Laverne Lucas; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Edward and Elenora Kropus; and grandparents, Earl Campbell and Ethel Booker Campbell of East Glen and Roy Lucas and Anna Bullerdick Lucas of Staunton.

Visitation will be Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Callahan-DeBaun Funeral Home, 2425 Wabash Avenue. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. with the Rev. David Deal officiating. Burial will be at Highland Lawn Cemetery following the service. Online condolences can be made at:
