She was born October 14, 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah the daughter of Dale L. and Florence Richter Barton. Cindy was raised in Kaysville, Utah and lived in South Ogden until the time of her death.
Cindy married Elliott "Brent" Hampton on September 12, 1990 in Ogden, Utah.
She graduated from Weber State University and worked 30 years for the U.S. Forest Service. She was a very active member of the Burch Creek 4th Ward and held many callings. Cindy was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers.
She liked sewing, quilting, scrap booking and traveling. She loved to go camping with Brent and her dog Simi.
Surviving are her husband Brent of South Ogden; three brothers, Byron (Judy) Barton of Farmington; Justin (Angelas) Barton of San Antonio, TX; and Bruce (Stephanie) Barton of Granite Bay, CA.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
