The funeral for George Brewer, 97, Central Dakota Nursing Home, will be Saturday at 10:30 am, at St John's Catholic Church in Kensal with Rev. Neil Capon officiating. Burial will be at St John's Cemetery. There will be a Prayer Service Friday at 8pm at Daly-Peterson-Lisko Funeral Chapel. Mr Brewer died Tuesday at Jamestown Hospital.
George William Brewer was born at Stewartville, MN, Aug 19, 1885, the son of James Hubert and Adelia (Moran) Brewer. He came with his father in a covered wagon to the Kensal area to homestead when he was nine years of age. he received his education in rural schools near Kensal. He married Burdella Romelfanger November 24, 1925, at Kensal. They farmed and he served on the school board of various country schools in the area and was a Democratic Party Committeeman for many years. He was a member of St James Catholic Church of Jamestown. Mrs Brewer died in 1957. He retired in 1963 and moved to Jamestown. He moved to Central Dakota Nursing Home in 1979.
He is survived by four sons: Gerald Brewer, Jamestown; James Brewer, Kensal; George Brewer, Drake; and Donald Brewer, Fernando Beach, CA; three daughters, Mrs William Pritchert (Marilyn), Valley City; Mrs Joyce Ravnaas, Harvey; and Mrs William Carr (Janet), Deer Park, TX; one brother, Arthur Brewer, Hawthorne, CA; 31 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, one brother and three sisters.
