George married, Easter Styron, August 5, 1870, Baldwin, AL, they had Allen Luther and Helen Ann "Annie" Wallace. Easter gave birth to Baby Wallace in April 1878 her third child. The baby died at birth or shortly thereafter, Easter also died soon after giving birth. George married a second time to Mary Frances Nelson, August 13, 1879 Baldwin, AL. They had four sons. Joseph, Harold, Simmy and Charles and a daughter Georgia who died at age 5 years 10 months. George Washington Wallace was the father of eight.
George adopted his second wife's (Mary Frances) two daughters or the girls just went by the Wallace name, Cornelia "Cora" and Leila Nelson. They were both married with the maiden name Wallace.
George served in the Confederate States Army during the Civil War in Company G6 Alabama Cavalry.

Although his death record states he was born on the 28th, all other records including his stone and the family bible record the 29th of August as his birth day.
