Dec. 14 - Hugh Gracey alias John Downey, and Susan Hook alias Susan Downey. This is a queer case. Nine years ago Mr. Gracey married Susan hook under the assumed name of John Downey. Why he did so is not for us to state: but for some reason to him good and sufficient, he latterly concluded to discard the bogus and be married again to Mrs. Downey under his true name of Hugh Gracey. Presenting himself to the Judge of this court, he stated the circumstances in the case and satisfied His Honor that he was sincere in what he was asking for, whereupon His Honor issued him a marriage license to enable him to again marry his wife Susan. And they were married. Perhaps there is not a similar case on record, certainly not in this court.
