Auto Mishap Victim
Mrs. Minnie A. Peabody, 38, of
Port Allegany, was killed instantly
Thursday evening, when her head
was crushed between the right front
door and the top of her automobile
after the left front wheel of her car
caught the left rear fender of a car
driven by John E. Ryan, 18, of the
Four Mile Road, Allegany, on the
Olean-Eldred highway, a short distance
from Castle Inn.
Ryan was released yesterday morning
by Coroner Smith, into the custody
of his father, E. F. Ryan. No
criminal charge was placed against
the boy.
Coroner Smith gave his verdict as
accidental death caused by a fracture
of the skull.
