Born to William Epaphroditus Hightower Wright (1826-1897) & his first wife, Sarah Frances "Fanny" Aycock Wright (1836-1865), both of Georgia.

Joe operated a resort hotel in San Antonio. He married Josie B. Wright (1868–1946) on May 26, 1895, in Smith County, TX. I believe they may have previously been married south of the border, since their daughter was born in Mexico and Joe seems to have worked in Panama at one time.

Children:
Lyla Clemmentine Wright Corey (1891-1986; Memorial# 219048750)
Walter Irwin Wright 4/13/1892-after 1962 in Washington, DC)

The death certificate shows garbled names for Joe's parents. His father was William, but Reuben was Joe's younger brother. His maternal grandmother's maiden name was Quin, but his mother's maiden name was Aycock. Joe was so old when he died that the informant did not know his parents (his mother died when he was 2) or family and probably reported the names of family members she had heard him mention.

I am sure that this man, William Joseph Wright, is the son of William EH Wright because the writeup of William EH Wright (see Sarah Frances Wright's page) says that he had a son Joe who was living in San Antonio in 1955 who was 93 years old, which matches Joe's age at that time. Also, his sister Fannie Dupree's obituary of 1950 mentions her brother, W.J. Wright, of San Antonio.
