Bessie Rogers, 94, went to be with the Lord and join her husband, Bob, on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012. Celebration of life: 4 p.m. Saturday in Biggers Funeral Home Chapel. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery at a later date. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Biggers Funeral Home. Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to First United Methodist Church of Azle or a charity of choice . Bessie was born July 29, 1918, in Knox County to Luther "L.E." and Mary Hawes Hunter. She married Bob Rogers on May 14, 1944, in Munday. They lived in Azle for 62 years where they were involved in the community and were active, dedicated, beloved members of First United Methodist Church. Bessie enjoyed cooking and sewing. She was an expert seamstress and made beautiful quilts. She loved getting together with family and friends. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed. Survivors: Son, Jim Rogers and wife, Jeanne, of Keller; daughter, Shirley Rogers Craft and husband, David, of Glen Rose; sisters, Juanita Nelson of Munday and Elizabeth Crouch of California, sister-in-law, Gladys Hunter of Knox City; grandchildren, Chris and Stephanie Craft, Scott and Lisa Craft, Cathy Craft May and Kevin May, Kyle and Amy Rogers, Jerrod and Susan Rogers, and Reagan and Erin Rogers; 17 great-grandchildren and one more on the way; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
