A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Mird and Maggie Green Putnam and as a US Army veteran of World War II. Lloyd received the American Theater Service Medal, FAME Service Medal, and three Bronze Stars for his dedicated service for his country. He was owner of the Balsam Road Men's Shop and also worked at the Waynesville Bait Shop. Lloyd loved the beauty of the mountains, flowers, and bird watching. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and solitaire.
He is survived by five nieces, four nephews and a sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held in the Waynesville Chapel of Wells Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Buchanan Cemetery with military graveside rites.
