The Rev. William C. Collins, 91, Henderson, went to his heavenly reward at 1:31 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009.

He was a patient of Medco Center of Henderson. He was born in Webster County on May 1, 1918, to the union of Lum and Millie Ann Collins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers and three sisters.

He was a minister of the Pentecostal faith for more than 60 years. He pastored in four states and preached revivals in many cities. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force veteran. He served in China over a three-year period under Gen. Charles Chenault. He was an aerial tail gunner on a B-24 bomber in the Flying Tigers. He returned to the U.S. at the end of the war.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry Meredith will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Full military rites will be performed by American Legion Worsham Post No. 40.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Wednesday at Benton-Glunt Funeral Home.
