CECIL CORNELL BERRY

Trinity- Services for Cecil C Berry 91, were held at 3 pm Monday, February 5, 2007 at the Trinity Funeral Home with the Rev Lester McAdams, pastor of the Oaklawn Church officiating.
Burial followed in the Glendale Memorial Cemetery.
Mr Berry died Friday, February 2 after a short, courageous battle lung cancer.
He was born May 31, 1915 in Elgin, Texas and moved to Trinity 36 years ago following his retirement to follow his dream of being an avid fisherman and hunter of white tail deer.
Survivors include a son and his spouse, Jimmy and Margie Berry of Trinity; a stepson and his spouse , RB and Wanda Blake; a stepdaughter and her spouse, JoAnn and Rick Jordon; a sister, Daisy Hendricks of LaPorte; numerous grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Cecil Berry was also predeceased by a son, David Loyall Berry SP4 who was killed Thursday in South VietNam when the armored personnel carrier he was riding in hit and exploded a mine. The Houston native was on his second tour of duty in VietNam. He would have graduated with the January 20, 1966 Class of SamHouston High School on Irvington in Houston, but left in 1964 to enlist in the Army and was first assigned to VietNam in June, 1965. He was reassigned there in December, 1965, after service in Hawaii. Berry was a member of Aldine Church of Christ in Houston....
