Ok, I'm trying to add to the Famous list Blessed Mary McKillop. She is a FAMOUS Nun here in Australia, started her own order, taught very poor children when it wasn't considered necissary. She opened orphanages etc. Butted heads with the Males of the RC church, got thrown out on trumped up charges (she had what we now know to be endometriosis, and the treatment then was 1 tablespoon of brandy as required),so they threw her out as a drunk. She went to the Vatican, (this is all abreviated), eventually got reinstated, died in Sydney, the convent is now her tomb, hundreds of thousands visit her tomb each year, especially on her own day in August. The Vatican have Beatified her, 1 step away from Sainthood. Australia has no Saints, male or Female, so not only would she be our First Saint, but hey a women beat the men to it. I've submitted her bio twice for a star and been rejected each time, with only a note to go and read the rules of submission. Hello, I HAVE, they don't help me one whit. Have NO idea what I've done wrong, and the notes don't help at all, they just look like Automated responses. Is she rejected because she's not an American famous person???? I don't think so, I saw the original inventer of Hummel figurines who joined the Sisters was featured, so I can't figure it out. Can ANYONE help please, this lady definatley deserves her place on here.

OK, for starters, seems small, but SPELL CHECK everything. And, I'd consider getting rid of the duplicate and concentrate on just one memorial.

thanks, I didn't know they'd kept the originial entry, I just thought when they knocked it back they deleted it. And yes I can spell check, but American spelling and sometimes English spelling can be totally different from Australian, and also the way we use words. For example we in Australia spell color COLOUR. Always have. A round thing we bake that the kids love you guys call a cookie, we call it a biscuit or a bikkie! And even the way we write dates is totally oposite. For example fifth of April, you guys would write 4/5/2009. We would put 5/4/2009. There are a LOT of differences. How do I now delete the duplicate???? I'm NOT knocking the differences, just explaining them. My American friends laughs histerically at some of them. For example you use the word fanny in relation to someones behind, quote from a book "as he walked past he casually patted her on the fanny". We'll here in Australia the Fanny is the FRONT bottom part of a woman. Makes the sentace read a WHOLE lot different, huh??? Thanks for the advice, if I can find the article I'll run a spell check and see what's what. And then?

post a link to your memorial here - you can get more input Mary McKillop I think she needs a header like 'clergy' or 'religious figure' and there is the issue with capitalization. Otherwise I think the bio is fine.

Religious figure. Blessed Mary McKillop is one step away from becoming Australia's first Saint. Champion of education for the poor children of Australia, she taught many herself, often in the "outback". When she took orders, she took the religious name Mary of the Cross. She founded her own order, the Sisters of St. Joseph, in 19XX. The work of the Sisters included educating poor children. The Sisters also set up and operated women's refuges and orphanages. Although she was exiled from the church for a time, Mary returned to her calling and she and her fellow Josephites helped thousands of people with their charitable efforts. Mary suffered ill health most of her life, and finally succumbed at the main Convent in Sydney. Mary's tomb is there, and thousands visit it each year, including two Popes. I'm not saying this is perfect, but I edited for style and made it more concise.
