Alfred Herrmann Koebig, age 85 of Seguin, passed away on May 23, 2011. He was born on July 1, 1925 in Geronimo, Texas to Alfred Koebig and Lilly Herrmann Koebig. He was a member of the Seguin High School Class of 1942 and he attended Schreiner College and the University of Texas at Austin. Al began his career in the insurance business where he owned and operated an insurance agency. He was past president of the Seguin Lions Club and past president of the Seguin/ Guadalupe County Chamber of Commerce. He was elected mayor of Seguin in 1966 and proudly served in that capacity until 1982. He served on the Texas Municipal League Board for most of his political career and in 1971 was president of the board. He is preceded in death by his parents.
