Description: The history of the regiment in the Illinois Adjutant General Report describes the 50th Illinois' participation in the battle of Allatoona Pass. In Wm Scaife's book Allatoona Pass*, he reports 15 killed, 63 wounded. General Corse's report in the OR agrees. There are 10 accounted for in the VA and Findagrave. There is an unknown Sergt between SM Pike and Smith Wright who may well be Albert S. Wright, who Scaife refers to as 2nd Lt, but was never mustered as Lt. There are 4 other unknowns which would bring the total to 15. C-1995 Unknown and C-1996 Unknown were buried in the same grave with Smith Wright of Co A. C-1998 Unknown and C-1999 Unknown were buried in one grave in the SW corner of the grave yard where Chandler, Pike, Smith Wright, and Mercer were found, 20yds W of the RRd and & 100yds N of a fort on the mountain in a group of 21 graves.From roster not accounted for: 1.
