Tuckahoe Burying Ground

After a series of Revolutionary War skirmishes that took place mid-March, 1777 at and near Ward's House, Tuckahoe, NY (on White Plains Post Road which is today's State Rte 22, at north entrance to the Concordia College campus), several British and American dead were laid to rest:"...in a beautiful locust grove west of the house and directly in the rear of the barn on the opposite side of the post-road leading to White Plains." Source: "Westchester County During the American Revolution 1775-1783" by Otto Hufeland, 1926 (at Adriance Memorial Library, Poughkeepsie, NY) The exact location of these burials is unknown, being in a residential area today.
