Description: 1)John -, Ohio. Killed at Resaca, Ga., May 15, 1864. Orig bur 2 miles North from Resaca Ga on the Chitwood Farm on the North side of the Connasauga River and 1/4 mile East of the Chitwood House in the edge of a large field next to the woods; 1 grave. The headboard was washed away by the Freshet of 1867. 2)Oleson Co B 25th Wis. .75mi SW of Resaca & 300yds S of Summerville Rd in a ravine in woods. 3)Durant Co H 29 OH. 8mi E of Resaca in an old graveyard nr Fields Mills. 4)Churchill and McMahan and two Unknowns w/ no death dates (removed to section D graves 255 & 256): about three miles north of Resaca and about 50yds west of the Dalton Road between the Federal & Rebel Breastworks on land belonging to Mr Harris. 5)Higbee, McCauley, Powell, Hunter, and Wm O Sharp (death date 7/29?), four Unknowns w/ no death dates (removed to section D graves 257-260): Three miles North of Resaca and from one to three hundred Yds East of the Dalton road between the Federal & Rebel Breatsworks on land belonging to Mr Sprague & Mr Scales. 6) Unknown, B H Stowell (Stoufer), Unknown, Adolph Schwartz, Unknown, Unknown. The Unknowns were removed to section D, graves 261-264: Three miles North from Resaca and one and a half miles West from the Dalton Road between the Breastworks of the opposing Armies on land belonging to Mr Rooker. 7)Martin Christian, 2 miles west of Calhoun on Tanner Ferry Road. 8)W E Jaquay and Capt G A Taylor, 2 1/2 miles from Calhoun on Tanner Ferry Road at Mr Loy's. 9)2 Unknowns, 3 1/2 miles from Calhoun on Tanners Ferry Road & 700 yds N of Mr Frickes house. Removed to section D, graves D-5 and D-8.
