This family line runs through my husband's father. This particular line comes from his grandmother's side and follows all the way back to Pennsylvania Dutch and Europe specifically Germany and Holland from the 1700's. At that time in history major parts of Germany and Holland were considered one country (Holy Roman Empire) etc hence many of that era were considered german-dutch. One term that described these first settlers to America was PALATINE.
