Home for the Friendless Lot A Virtual Cemetery created by: Liz L.
Description: Lot of the Hospital and Home for the Friendless (the Home was at 433 W. Court St. in Cincinnati at the time they were using this lot) at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio. Info for the memorials was primarily culled from Spring Grove Cemetery's cemetery records. The Home was established in 1855 by a group of Protestant Christian women as a "refuge for destitute women." It was originally known as the Protestant Home for the Friendless and Foundlings and changed its name in 1884. Today it is part of Maple Knoll Communities. You can see a brief timeline of the organizations that merged to become Maple Knoll (including the Home) at this (off-site) page.
