Description: Andreas Harrigfeld immigrated from Uslar, Germany to America with his three sons – Ernst Harrigfeld (1846-1920), Christian Harrigfeld (1857-1933) and Georg Dietrich Harrigfeld (1862-1945) – and settled in Nebraska. In 1899 Christian and Georg relocated to Squirrel, Idaho. The land on the south side of Ashton's Main Street belonged to Georg and Chris Harrigfeld and in 1904, it was either given or sold to create the 160 acres that comprised the township of Ashton, Idaho. Georg and Chris were among the twelve men who served on the first town board. Descendants of Andreas daughter, Johanne Melusine Karoline Harrigfeld Jordan (1851-1935), have also immigrated to the United States, while others remained in Germany.
