Unusual Shapes - Marble Lamb (child's gravestone) (emplaced 1894-1954)

The lamb symbolizes innocence. That is why it was commonly used as a motif on the graves of infants and young children. To see the best-preserved gravestone of this type look at the memorial for Elizabeth WYLIE (1893-1894). My information so far indicates that this motif was used for infants and children who were less and eleven years old.
