Description: Bruce is a cousin with whom I spent many summers at his home. I have many, many fond memories. James is my very favorite brother-in-law - a survivor of the sinking of the USS Indianapolis. He suffered painfully, both physically and mentally, for the remainder of his life from the effects of being in the shark-infested sea for four and a half days without food and water. Roger is my dear father-in-law, father to my beloved Craig. During WW II, he joined the US Air Corps, the forerunner of the US Air Force. Grady and Kenneth are my favorite cousins on the Holland side of our family. Grady was stationed in the Philippines and was a POW of the Japanese for four years, suffering starvation and many forms of torture. His deep faith in God never wavered. Our family was initially informed that he'd been KIA. Though he had many health issues through the years as a result of his captivity, he was a prankster and a jokester up to his death. His best therapy through the years was to publicly speak about his POW experiences at local schools. Kenneth, too, joined the US Air Corps. He was in the Air Force for twenty years - serving in Korea and Vietnam. He was a fun-loving man and totally devoted to family and friends. Bruce, James, Dad, Grady, and Kenneth will always be amongst my most beloved heroes.
