Description: B-24J #42-72835 308th BG 373rd B Sq 'Flamingo II/For Sale' Maj Thorel 'Skip' Johnson Crew - This plane took off from the air base at Yangkai, China on a secret combat mission to Bangkok, Thailand on 05 February 1944. The formation broke up because of weather over interior China. Apparently for unknown reasons the gas supply became exhausted. All bailed out safely. Pilot ‘Skip' Johnson reported that they were twenty-one days walking back to their base.
