450th Bomb Group, 721st B SgBased at Manduria, ItalyPilot Lt Leonard Bittal Scott, Jr and his crew successfully bailed out of B-24H #42-95385 'Hi-Pockets' near the city of Traunstein-Surberg, Germany, 13 June 1944 when on a mission to a target at Munich, Germany, the plane was hit by an enemy flak attack. All crew members were captured as POWs.Lt Scott was later promoted to a Lieutenant Colonel, USAF.
