Born in Genova, Italy. Son of Giovanni De Grossi Di Giuseppe and Anna Balbi Di Guiuseppe, he immigrated to South América when he was 20 years old on board of the merchant Steamship called Vapor Paranaguá, arriving in Buenos Aires, Argentina on november 30, 1883 where he met an argentine woman named Amélia Ruisecco, getting married with her after a while. Graduated in Architecture and Engineering, he worked in too many places in Argentina, Uruguay and finally here in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where he stopped and fixed residence having two children, Mario Manfredo De Grossi (elder) and Alberto De Grossi (younger), both deceased.
On the second photo taken circa 1919 shown up to down is probably a wedding celebration in Victória City, capital of Espirito Santo State where we can see on first row the old Giulio sitted on the left side of the picture dressed with black clothes and beard. On the same row, toward him to right his wife Amélia, also dressed with black lacework clothes. The boy sitted on the ground in front of them wearing a hat is his younger son and my grandfather Alberto. The other people arround them are unknown guests invited for the party.
Giulio died at home in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on october 4, 1936 age of 73, from arteriosclerosis and heart attack. Pray for him.
