Stephen Vansickle died at his home in Wapello, May 15, and was buried the next day. Mr. Vansickle was an old resident of the county, having come here in 1844. He was twice married, his first wife having died nearly twenty years ago. Ten children were born to them seven of whom are living, including the sons, William, George, Riley and Ira and three daughters. His second wife survives him. The immediate cause of his death was a paralytic stroke, though he had been an invalid for several years. He was a step-son of the eccentric Nehemiah Blake, who died a number of years since at Morning Sun.
