Anne Mackie Fitzgibbon was born April 28, 1934 in Chapel Hill, Orange County, North Carolina to Dr. Ernest Lloyd Mackie and Romagna Adeline Gallaway Mackie. Anne had one sibling, William Ernest Mackie. She received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and went on to be a drama professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She had one child, Kathleen "Kitty" Laura Fitzgibbon. Anne died shortly before her 58th birthday on April 8, 1992 in Wilmington, New Hanover County, North Carolina. She was cremated.
