Daughter of James K Smiley and Susan Demaris Pulley, she was born in Missouri, from a long line of Missouri pioneers.
She married Samuel Louis Matson, and they had one child, May Emma Matson. They later divorced. She raised her grandson Robert Leland Reed after May had divorced her husband Laurence, and then May died of TB.
She was a sweet lady, with a sly and infectious laugh. Rest in peace, great-grandmother.
