Whiteford S. Moore, Sr. was born April 6, 1870 in Bennettsville, Marlboro Co., SC., the son of Alfred Yeoman Moore and Elizabeth Catherine Odom Moore. He had two brothers , two sisters , and one half-brother. He married Willie Clyde McClelland Moore, and they moved to Ludowici, Long County, Georgia to farm. They had two children: Ernestine Lee Moore Marsh and Whiteford S. Moore, Jr. and three grandchildren. He died March 9, 1958 in Ludowici and is buried at Baggs Cemetery in Ludowici
