Keefe, Doris J. "Dink", 71, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, September 10, 1994 at Capitol Region Medical Center - Still Campus.
She was born September 22, 1922, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of Charles C. and Jessie Martin Royse. She was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in St. Louis. She was married on November 3, 1943 in St. Louis, to James F. Keefe, who survives at the home.
She worked as a volunteer and supervised the volunteers working for the Conservation Sales Tax Amendment. She was a member of the Janus Club of Jefferson City, the Mid-Missouri Conservation Society, the Missouri Prairie Foundation, and the Conservation Federation of Missouri. She was recognized as Missouri Conservationist of the Year in 1975, and received the "Ping" Bode Conservationist Award from the Mid-Missouri Conservation Society in 1976. In 1980, she received the National American Motors Conservation Award. She also worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross, and the Capitol Region Medical Center - Still and Memorial Campuses.
She is also survived by two daughters, (Names withheld); two sons, (Names withheld); and six grandchildren.
Inducted into the Missouri Department of Conservation Hall of Fame July 18, 1996.
