Bruce Brian Barnett, a retired Teacher and longtime Dorchester resident, died at Carney Hospital, Dorchester, Friday October 15, 2010. He was 62 years old. Born in Boston, he was a graduate of the Boston Public Schools and Boston State Teacher College. Mr. Barnett was a Social Studies Teacher for over thirty years. He recently retired from the Roderick Elementary School, Wrentham. Bruce was an avid history buff. He built dioramas of World War II and participated in Civil War re-enactments. In this capacity, he served as an extra in the movie Glory.
Beloved son of the late Earl and Dorothy (Sullivan) Barnett. Loving brother of Noralie C. Barnett, Dorothy M. Keller and her husband Michael, and the late Lisa Barnett and her partner Melissa Scott. Uncle of Eric B. Keller and Thomas F. Keller. Bruce is survived by his beloved Airedale Terrier "Hamish".
