Fred was born in New Ulm, Mn. He had 2 sisters (Irene and Marian) and a brother (Sever). He married Bee Carter on February 25, 1929. Together they had four children--Sally, Rick, Pat, and Cookie (Judie). He worked on the family farm in Lake Park, Minnesota after they were first married, and then went on to work at the famed Ryan Hotel in St. Paul. He then worked for Joesting & Schilling, which later became Aslesens, from which he retired at age 67. He was a very gentle person who absolutely loved animals. He had an incredible sense of humor. He loved to go fishing and play cards and cribbage.
