Armando loved sports especially basketball. He wanted to play badly but was diagnosed with leukemia in his sophmore year of high school (Cantwell H.S., Momtebello, Ca). He was not allowed to play but volunteered as waterboy and assistant coach. He was a wonderful soul and fought his sickness through high school. The battle was lost soon after high school and he passed away at the City of Hope Medical Center in 1974.
